Telehealth Hui - March 2023

Do you serve ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed)/Homeless communities? Join us for a special presentation by Dr. Ka'ohimanu Dang Akiona about caring for these vulnerable communities and hear about the challenges in implementing and ensuring appropriate use of telehealth in these environments. This session is an introduction to a series of discussions aimed at enhancing care and support for the ALICE/Homeless populations.

Dr. Ka'ohimanu Dang Akiona, Family Medicine Physician and Founder of Kohala Coast Urgent Care and Mobile Health and Kaiewa Health Incorporated, is one of Hawaii's most experienced telehealth providers for our safety net community. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. Dr. Akiona works tirelessly to advocate for access and equity in healthcare in areas including education, testing, vaccination and treatment. She and her team developed effective mobile care models that brings healthcare to high risk, houseless, vulnerable and marginalized communities. Her goal is to improve access to care for all.
